1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CraftMyCV ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CraftMyCV is an online CV builder that allows users to create, edit, and download professional CVs using templates and guided writing tools. The Service is provided on a freemium basis with optional paid subscriptions.

You may also create a CV as a guest without registering an account. Guest CVs are stored for 30 days and are then automatically deleted. To keep your CV permanently, you must create an account.

3. Minimum Age

You must be at least 16 years old to use CraftMyCV. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

4. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

By creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

5. Guest CV Policy

If you create a CV without an account:

• Your CV data will be stored for 30 days from the date of creation.
• After 30 days, your CV and all associated data will be automatically and permanently deleted.
• To keep your CV permanently, you must create an account before the 30-day period expires.
• If you provide an email address, you may receive up to 3 reminder emails during this period.

6. Free and Paid Plans

CraftMyCV offers a free tier with limited features and paid subscription plans with additional capabilities. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). Prices are listed on our Pricing page and may change with notice.

7. Payment and Billing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase.

8. Trials

We may offer trial periods for paid plans. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged for the subscription. Trial availability and terms may change.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create using CraftMyCV, including CV data and text. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your CVs.

10. Service Communications

By using CraftMyCV, you may receive the following communications:

• Registered users: Transactional emails related to your account, such as email verification, password resets, and billing notifications. These are not marketing emails and are necessary for the operation of the service.
• Guest users: If you provide an email address when creating a guest CV, you may receive up to 3 reminder emails during the 30-day storage period. These are service communications, not marketing.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Create fraudulent or misleading CV content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
• Resell or redistribute the Service without permission

12. Intellectual Property

CraftMyCV, its logo, templates, and design are the intellectual property of CraftMyCV. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our templates or platform design. The CV content you create belongs to you.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon termination, your personal content (CVs, cover letters) will be deleted immediately. If you have billing history, certain transaction records may be retained for up to 6 months as described in our Privacy Policy data retention terms.

14. Limitation of Liability

CraftMyCV is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to job application outcomes.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
